Lisbon Museums: The incredible dynamism of Educational Services
Lisbon, the city of seven hills, is home to a multitude of museums. Behind their doors lies a vibrant and dynamic world, largely thanks to the dedication and ingenuity of the educational services. Their mission? To ignite cultural curiosity in the younger generations. The educational services of Lisbon’s museums go above and beyond to ensure that new generations develop a deep interest in history, art, and knowledge. Whether through workshops, historical role-playing games, theatrical tours, scientific experiments, treasure hunts, or interactive quizzes, they strive to create fun activities where children are invited to become active participants in their own learning. Touching, manipulating, and creating for a tangible and memorable understanding of the subjects studied. Often incorporating the latest technologies, Lisbon’s museums use digital tools to enhance the experience. Mobile applications, augmented reality, and interactive installations make exhibitions more accessible and engaging. The educational services of the museums also work closely with Lisbon’s schools. Custom school programs are developed to complement educational curriculums, encouraging the view of museums as extensions of the classroom.
The work of Lisbon’s museum educational services is both admirable and indispensable. Their creativity and passion for education ensure the transmission of our cultural heritage. In this article, continuing from our newsletter that consistently includes all the proposals from the Lisbon museum network, we want to acknowledge the efforts of the educational services by presenting a series of activities taking place until the end of September in the city’s main museums.
